How to Be An Admired Person

Being an example of possibility at any age!
When you think of someone you admire, it tends to be a person who performs far above others in a particular area. One commonality observed among these people is their level of focus. They have no interest in comparing their results to others, they simply zone in on what they want to do and refuse to let distractions or limitations get in their way.
As people age, societal expectations of your capabilities change. While some of the changes are understandable, be very mindful of how some have pushed the boundaries of what is possible. It’s common language to hear excuses made like “well, I’m not as young as I used to be” for a person’s lack of physical wellness. It’s almost a “medal of honor” that an adult wears when they say, “I don’t have time because I am so busy with work (importance) and/ or I have to do so much for my kids (Sacrifice).” Be very aware when you language importance and sacrifice you may be excusing yourself for not being the best you can be. Jim Rohn the Personal Development Author used to say, “Self Sacrifice is not noble, Self Investment is noble.”
Beware!!! Though society may give you the nod that it’s OK, this is one of the biggest sabotages when it comes to living at your highest potential. The scale, your clothes, your energy level, your inspiration to others and the example you give your children will be disadvantaged if they see you compromising your standards based on a socially acceptable norm.
Your thoughts, habits and quality of life belongs to you. Keep your control and know that in many cases you can double the normal standards for any age. Regardless of age or social expectation, you have the power to create your life into a masterpiece of abundant energy and possibility. Be part of debunking the myth of what is age acceptable and at the same time encourage though example the limitless possibilities for all the people around you. Having a Personal Best lifestyle means that we use the 5% of potential/brain power that is easily accessible and create habits so we can tap into the other 95% of human potential. Focusing on yourself may be the most important decision you make since wherever you go and whatever you are doing is going to involve who you are and the level of mental mindset and physical capacity you possess. Like they say every time you are on a plane, “put your oxygen mask on first before helping others get theirs on.”
